Hurricane Harvey!

Sorry I have not updated the blog for awhile but Harry hasn't really given me any fabulous stories or such, he's not much of a writer!! He is doing great and still working really hard!! We are now on the downhill side of things!! He will be home in January!! He is in Spring,Texas, still the zone leader, he is training again and riding a bike in the middle of summer!! So he's dripping wet!! Hahha

Anyways, hurricane Harvey is headed toward him and I received an update from the mission president that all missionaries were instructed to get 3 gallons of water, food like pop tarts, granola bars, fruit snacks etc that they can live off of because they may lose power! He needed flashlights and pretty much to stay in their apartments and if they needed to be evacuated members would help in that situation! So any extra prayers for Houston would be appreciated right now!! They do expect about 30 inches of water so flooding is pretty much gonna happen so they are instructed to hang out in their house only!! Hopefully I will hear from him on Monday with stories of his first hurricane!!

Meetings and Bed Bugs....

This week was weird because we had the Tuesday meeting and then I had
a Wednesday meeting, then we had interviews with President on
Thursday. Then on Friday I went on an exchange with the Assistants in
the woodlands. Then this last couple days we have had a missionary
named Elder Jones, who served with me in College Station stay with us.
He extended his mission a month so he is just traveling to all the
zones and spending 4 days at a time with all the Zone leaders to help
them out. So it's been a really crazy week once again. But we had a
great week, we taught a lot of lessons and were able to find 7 new
investigators!! And a couple of them seem really really solid! But
other than that we are just continuing to try and build our teaching

pool and will hopefully see some wonderful miracles here soon :)

I do not like our apartment! This may be one of the worst apartments I have been in......We are currently dealing with BED BUGS!!! The joys of the Houston Life...Isn't it just the best!!

I have been grossed out and Itching all day long since I've received his email this morning! I hope this gets taken care of quickly!! So gross!!!!

My favorite couple/investigators!! I was able to go back to my old area to see these two baptized!! I was so happy President let me go back! I love these so much!

New Zone Leader!!

This week has been crazy... so many things have gone down
this week... so this is how the mission is going! I have been made a
Zone leader now... this last week has been insane... so on Tuesday I
get the call that I am going to be a zone leader. Then a little bit
later I get the call that I am the zone leader of a brand new zone.
The Klein zone that I was in, split and made a new Tomball zone. So
not only am I a new zone leader, but I am a zone leader for a new
zone, so I am literally one of two of the very first zone leaders ever
for this new zone. But it didn't end there.... President then calls me
a little bit later informing me that a pair of sisters were coming
into the zone and they would be sharing my ward and the Magnolia 1st
Ward. So I was asked to be the one to make their area. So not only
among all the chaos of having to organize a new zone, I was to create
an area. So that was wild... spent a lot of time looking at a map and
trying to figure out what would work.... but we got their area figured
out, and then the weird week didn't end there.... the apartment
complex the sisters were to move into fell through... so they had to
move into our complex.... so that was the weirdest thing ever!! And
their apartment is like one away from ours, we are literally next door
neighbors... so flipping weird!!!  And then we ended up giving them
two of our progressing investigators and a ton of Less actives we were
working with... and they have already like taken all of our dinners!
Haha so ya... it's been wild week.

The good news though is that we are working with a family that has
totally been guided by god like none other to the gospel. There are so
many miracles that are happening with them! The first one was that
they searched up mormons to prepare themselves before we got over
there, and they literally said they found nothing on the internet!!
They said it popped up with nothing.... so that was divine
intervention for sure!! Then when we went by one day it invite them to
Conference, no one was answering the door. Then when we felt prompted
to knock another time, the mom Carol answered and she told us that she
was cleaning in the back room of her apartment, with her music just
blaring. And so she didn't know anyone was knocking. But then she said
as she was sitting there, out of nowhere the music stopped for no
reason. It just turned off, and then she heard her dog bark and the
door knock. She was so surprised to see us that she was telling us

about that and how there is just something helping her along the way!

Love the pictures of him and this little girl!!

Transferred to Tomball Texas!

Sorry for the long pause with updating the blog for Harry but he had a couple of slow weeks so their wasn't  much to update everyone about!! He recently was transferred and it was one of the hardest transfers Harry has had up to this point!! He was in Brenham for quite awhile and loved it so much....This is what he said about it:

Brenham has been my favorite place in the
mission, and it was harder leaving there than it was leaving home...
haha seriously though!! It was just rough... I really loved that
Branch and all the people I had taught there and as well as just the
geography as well! It is just a special place! And it will always hold
a special spot in my heart! I really will be going back to visit

Brenham all the time when I am home!!

He had a couple of baptisms set up before he left so his Mission President let him go back for one!! So these pictures are of his recent convert in Brenham!

He is working towards going back for another baptism that he had set up! He really loves the people in Brenham!

This was his week in Tomball:

This week was pretty good! We have been teaching a lot, but we are
just trying to continue to find people prepared. We found 5 new
investigators once again this week, so as long as we get 5 more this
week than we can get to the second baptism on the 18th! So ya! It was
pretty exciting this week with some of the miracles that happened
while we were finding! One of the things that happened was that after
a many series of prompting from the spirit we knocked on this door and
found a man named Ray and a woman named Cindy. Cindy was the mans
caretaker because he had cancer, but Cindy had told us that the only
place that she has felt the spirit was at the Mormon church and that
30 minutes before we got to the door, she had actually told ray that
they needed to go get a blessing from the mormons! So it was super
cool, definitely something that doesn't happen everyday! Also last
night we needed one more person to find and so we knocked and knocked
and knocked and knocked some more.... and it was definitely a trial of
our faith and as well as our patience! But we finally found the person
we were looking for! So hopefully they will also progress in the
gospel!

ONE YEAR DOWN!!!

Well, this crazy kid has officially  been out one year!! He absolutely loves Texas and loves his mission so much!! He has grown so much this past year! I am excited to see what this year will bring for him! Here is a little something he sent with his email this last Monday...

The only way for anyone to truly have testimony of the
Savior, a testimony of God, one must take the invitation from the Lord
and read the Book of Mormon. It is the strongest force in conversion,
and it is the only thing in the world that will help compel and
persuade people to change. Nothing will change ones soul, faith and
life more than the Book of Mormon. It is absolutely foolish for
someone to not take that invitation, because you have nothing to lose
by doing so, but everything to gain if you do. You can and will gain
peace in this life and eternal salvation in the world to come! What
better gift than that! We can gain a testimony of the Savior and know
that because of his Atonement there is hope in the world!

Love this Kid!!

Maybe Harry will take up farming in Texas???

What an animal!! hahaha

New Years and Missionary Tag Picture...Finally!!

And really though for the new year we didn't do anything, we
were just out doing the work! We tracted for a bit, and then we were
out inviting as many people as we can to get to church. Because
President Mortensen has started a new thing where from 5-9 on Saturday
nights we just focus on getting people to church! It's called
operation church and rescue! Haha but ya so that's what we did, then
we drank some sparkling cider and went to bed by 10:30! Because I a,
way to tired all the time to be able to stay up until 12!

This week was pretty good! We have been working with a lot of less
actives, and such, as well as working with the two people we have
baptismal dates with. Our investigator Christopher is getting baptized
this Saturday and we are so excited! It's been a long time coming for
sure! And then we are working with a 17 year old who's baptism is on
January 28th! So that's the main stuff we are doing as far as the work
is going.

I have been bugging him for a tag picture and this was also considered my Christmas gift because that is wanted most from him so he showed me the picture when we skyped with him and that also made my Christmas!!
